Depression occurs in 10 to 25 percent of women, twice as much than in men and is known to affect approximately 2.6 million Canadians. Eighty percent of adults are also at risk of suffering from depression in their lifetime. In some case depression can become so severe that a person loses touch with reality and experiences hallucinations. But like other disorders it’s not something you “get over” by your own effort.
